Police search for person who shot a man in NW DC, getting away on a scooter

Police are looking for a man last seen on a bike or scooter.

WASHINGTON — Police are looking for the person who shot a man early Monday morning. Detectives say the man left the scene on a scooter or a bike. 

DC Police officers responded to the 5200 block of 3rd Street Northwest for the report of a shooting just before 1:30 a.m. That's near the Washington Latin Public Charter School. When they got to the scene, police found the man shot. He was awake and breathing when he was taken to an area hospital for treatment, police said.

Police are still investigating exactly what led up to the shooting. No arrests have been made.
