Man shot and killed inside restaurant along U Street, shooter arrested

On Saturday, April 27 MPD was called to the busy corridor of U Street, N.W. just before 1:15 a.m. for reports of gunshots.

WASHINGTON — A man is in custody in connection to a D.C. shooting that killed a man. 

According to the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), Robert Lowe, 40, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with second-degree murder while armed for the death of 43-year-old Kenneth Goins. 

On Saturday, April 27, MPD was called to the busy corridor of U Street, N.W.  just before 1:15 a.m. for reports of gunshots. When they arrived they found Goins inside a restaurant suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. 

First responders attempted lifesaving measures, but unfortunately Goins was pronounced dead at the scene. 

It is unknown when Lowe is scheduled to appear in court.
