Silver Spring rollover crash slows morning commute

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

SILVER SPRING, Md. — A rollover crash slowed traffic for commuters in Montgomery County early Thursday. Police are still investigating exactly what happened.

Authorities responded to a report of a crash around 6:30 a.m. near the intersection of University Boulevard East and Piney Branch Road. A small red pickup truck was seen on its side in the road, blocking some lanes. Debris, including construction cones and white paint was seen scattered in the road Thursday morning. It's not clear when the road will be cleared of debris and lanes reopened to traffic.

Montgomery County authorities have not said whether anyone was hurt in the crash.
