4 people injured in Woodbridge bus crash

The bus tried to avoid the collision and ended up striking a restaurant sign.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — Four people were injured after an OmniRide Local bus collided with another car in Woodbridge, Virginia Tuesday afternoon.

According to Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission (PRTC), the crash happened around 12:30 p.m. on Potomac Mills Road near Gideon Drive.

Investigators believe bus #292 had just left the OmniRide Transit Center and headed northeast on Potomac Mills Road when a car leaving the Comfort Suites struck the bus on the driver's side. The bus tried to avoid the collision and ended up striking a restaurant sign. Since that sign was near a gas line, the Prince William County Fire Department responded to turn off gas in the area before moving the bus.

Two passengers, the bus driver and the other driver were all taken to a nearby hospital for help.

Officials have downloaded video from cameras on the bus and shared it with the Prince William County Police Department.

There is no word on if any charges have or will be filed.
