'This is an oat milk household' | Arlington roommates keep receiving bizarre Uber Eats deliveries, that they didn't order

The first three deliveries were McDonald's single child milks. The second two were single Taco Bell cheese roll-ups.

ARLINGTON, Va. — For five days, two Arlington roommates say they've been getting Uber Eats deliveries that they never ordered. Even more bizarre were the orders themselves.

"The first three days looked exactly like this a McDonald's bag with a single child's milk inside it," said Mo Sullivan, adding "The last two days it has been Taco Bell cheesy roll-ups inside them."

Sullivan lives in the Aurora Highlands neighborhood of Arlington with her roommate Justine Jasuale.

It began on Saturday. They found a McDonald's bag with an Uber Eats delivery sticker on their front porch.

"We didn't think much of it and just tossed it in the trash," said Jasuale.

Sunday, around the same time, they got another delivery.

"I saw an Uber Eats delivery driver standing in our driveway with a bag. It was a McDonald's bag. I said to the driver, is that another child's milk? He said yes. I said that is not ours," said Sullivan.

She says the driver left with the bag and they went about their day. Monday, the same thing happened at about the same time.

On Tuesday, another driver arrived, but this time they had a delivery from a different restaurant.

"This time it was Taco Bell, That was the game changer. This one had a single cheesy roll-up," said Sullivan.

Wednesday morning, Sullivan waited outside on her porch, knowing the usual time of these deliveries was approaching.

At 11:12 a.m., a delivery driver arrived.

"I explained to him we have not been placing these orders it's been happening for five days. The Uber Eats driver was also freaked out and said this is weird," said Sullivan.

Five days, five orders and no explanation. We asked if these were items they would ever order.

"I am vegan, I do not consume any animal products," said Sullivan.

"We are an oat milk household. We definitely would never order a kid's milk," said Jasuale.

They told WUSA9 they reached out to Uber Eats through the app numerous times.

"They did offer me a $15 credit to our Uber account. Which, I advised them I didn't really think was a fair trade for our safety and privacy. Somewhat insulting, when all we wanted was a solution and answer that they're protecting our safety which currently didn't feel like that," said Jasuale.

They weren't able to get many answers about who was having the orders delivered to them.

They also filed a police report online.

Wednesday night, Arlington County Police told WUSA9 the incident was filed under 'suspicious circumstances', which is information that the community wants to report to police, but is not a criminal offense.

"At first we really thought this was kinda funny but now we're nervous," said Sullivan, adding "worried that someone has access to our address and is using these deliveries to track our movements".

"We're nervous, definitely a little scared a little on edge," said Jasuale.

"We don't know who's behind this. It could be a credit card scam," said Sullivan.

Their message to whoever's doing it.

"I would just say, please stop," said Jasuale.

WUSA9 reached out to Uber Wednesday night and received this statement from an Uber spokesperson:

“We understand how unsettling these unsolicited deliveries have been and apologize for this experience. We have banned the account related to the orders and are prepared to take swift action if any additional deliveries are received. Uber continues to invest in safeguards to help prevent misuse of the platform and keep our communities safe.”
