ELLICOTT CITY, Md. (WUSA9) -- After the second devastating flood in 2 years swept through Ellicott City, the town has recovered its iconic clock that was lost in the flood.
Part of the face and the frame was found in the Patapsco River on Saturday afternoon by Ellicott City residents Geoff and Mark Haver.
According to a Twitter posting by the Howard County, the clock was installed in 2016 after the original was swept away in the flooding that year.
The clock was pulled from the same river the body of a man who died saving a woman during the flooding was found.
In the wake of the dangerous flooding, the town is now seeking to rebuild and prevent future floods. After the 2016 flood, the town spent $10 million on rebuilding.
