WASHINGTON — Hundreds of people gather at the Smithsonian Metro station following Thursday's Fourth of July celebration.
President Trump delivered a "Salute to America" during Thursday's events around 6:30 p.m. Following the president's speech, a flyover and music, fireworks were on display above the National Mall.
The fireworks at this year's Fourth of July celebration are being launched from West Potomac Park and behind the Lincoln Memorial.

Earlier in the day, the Fourth of July activities were postponed due to inclement weather. People were evacuated from the West Front of the Capitol because of the weather.
Additionally, two people were arrested after lighting an American flag on fire on Pennsylvania Ave. around 5:30 p.m.
