How to get free Starbucks through the end of the year

Currently eight locations in the DMV are participating in the "pop-up parties" through Dec. 31.

WASHINGTON — Free coffee alert!

For a few days, you can get woke and it won't cost you anything. Starbucks is giving away free espresso drinks through the end of the year.

The chain is hosting more than 1,000 "Pop-Up Parties" at select stores nationwide through Dec. 31st. Currently, eight stores are participating in the DMV -- two in Virginia, two in Maryland and four in D.C. -- but Starbucks is revealing 200 new locations every day.

Customers can visit the pop-up parties between 1-2 p.m. daily, and choose from a tall hot or iced drink, including the holiday seasonal drinks, such as Peppermint Mocha and Chestnut Praline Latte. There's a limit of one free drink per customer.
