The White House just selected its Christmas tree | It's A DC Thing

A Fraser fir from a North Carolina farm will stand in the Blue Room this year.

WASHINGTON — It may not be Halloween yet, but believe it or not, the White House is already thinking about Christmas.

A Fraser fir was just selected to be this year's Christmas tree that will go in the White House Blue Room.

The North Carolina Christmas Tree Association shared the news on social media Wednesday. White House staff visited Peak Farms in Jefferson, North Carolina, to pick out the tree. Peak Farms also provided a tree for the White House during the Obama Administration in 2012, as well as a tree for Vice President Mike Pence in 2018.

The tree will be harvested next month and then personally presented to First Lady Jill Biden.
