'Think of the children,' the artist behind the display replied sarcastically.

The D.C. Barbie Pond in Logan Circle is known by locals for their irreverent and quirky takes on the seasons and political climate.

It's all documented on their popular Instagram account, @barbie_pond_ave_q.

This week, they posted someone wrote an angry note about their dolls going topless for St. Patrick's Day.

"This is not Entertainment it is Pornography. Unite as a neighborhood + demand its removal. What example is this for children," the sign left on the display reads.

"Think of the Children! 😊😊😊 #YesSomeoneLeftThis #BanTheBarbies #WasThisAJoke? #PlasticBoobsCorruptChildren," the artist wrote their response.

Previously, when WUSA9 originally covered the rotating art installment at 1454 Q St. NW., neighbors mostly seemed entertained by the fixture.

On Instagram Monday, people in the comments seemed to be on board with the display.

"All eye rolling aside, there really is danger in teaching children that the naked body is shameful instead of just talking openly about it," @_catq wrote on the post. "Sad that whoever left this probably doesn't realize if they don't talk to their kids, heaven forbid someone else could. So for real, thank you ."

The Barbie Pond recently did an homage to being furloughed during the shut down, and showed some naked male Mardi Gras spirit.

"You have to see it for yourself really," said neighborhood dog walker Jesse Maleh late last year. "It's just amazing to behold in person, how creative they get. It makes me smile."

But it seems like not everyone is on board with the display, something The Barbie Pond artist acknowledges in their Instagram bio, which reads: "Lowering Logan Circle property values since 2014."

The artist behind the display is very private, but the Barbie Pond on Q Street is free and open 24 hours. It's even on Google Maps and Trip Advisor.
