WASHINGTON — Our first heat wave of the season starts today, but thankfully it won't be that humid over the next several days.

Monday: Sunny and hot. High: 90.
Monday Night: Mostly clear and warm. Low: 73.
Tuesday: Sunny and hot. High: 92.
The heat is on for Monday! Afternoon highs will soar into the upper 80s and low 90s. It might feel a bit sticky, but thankfully humidity will remain relatively low and won't make temperatures feel much warmer than they actually are. Any outdoor plans you have are in the clear but make sure you monitor the heat. If you plan on spending extended time outside stay hydrated and take lots of beaks in the shade. A stray shower will be possible for areas along and west of I-81 but any wet weather will be very isolated and short-lived.
Sunny skies and hot temperatures will continue into Tuesday as well. Be prepared for low 90s again with heat index values or 'feels like temps' in the mid 90s. Sunglasses, sunscreen, and water are all a must!

All week long temperatures will range between 90 and 98 degrees. Right now the hottest days of the week will be Friday through Sunday. We could even make a run at 100 degrees over the weekend. The last time we hit 100 degrees in DC was August 15th back in 2016!
