Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson files trademark applications after MVP-caliber season

The three trademarks that Jackson has filed through the Gerben Law Firm are words and phrases that he wants to use for a clothing brand.

BALTIMORE — After taking the Baltimore Ravens to the NFL Playoffs and a 14-win regular season, Lamar Jackson has filed three trademark applications through the Gerben Law Firm.

Jackson filed the trademark applications on Jan. 16 for "You Are Going To Get A Bowl Out Of Me, Believe That!," "TRUZZ" and "Not Bad For A Running Back," according to Gerben Law Firm founder, Josh Gerben.

The 23-year-old quarterback just finished his second season in Baltimore and wants to use the phrases and words he's requested be trademarked for a clothing brand.

The Baltimore Sun reported that a Las Vegas apparel company already applied for a trademark for the words "Big Truss" on Dec. 13, which could lead to potential legal issues.

Jackson has not spoken on the meaning of "Big Truss" much, but a recent Tweet from recording artist Drake shows how special the motto is to him.

Drake posted on social media a picture of clothing apparel that had the words "Truss" on it, along with well-wishes for Jackson's birthday.

The two words themselves served as a motto for the 2019 Ravens and was highlighted in a rant about how talented Jackson is by Baltimore running back, Mark Ingram.

Baltimore lost its divisional round playoff game to the Tennessee Titans in early January. It was viewed as an upset for the Ravens, who finished with the best regular season record in the AFC.

Jackson is a likely contender to win the Most Valuable Player award for the National Football League. He arguably made the biggest impact of any player in the 2019 season, accounting for over 1,200 rushing yards and over 3,100 passing yards.
