COLLEGE PARK, Md. — Former Maryland quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa was not drafted by an NFL team over the weekend. However, he is still getting a chance in the league.
Tagovailoa has reportedly been invited to the Seattle Seahawks rookie camp next weekend. Mike Garafolo shared the news on X on Sunday.
The 2024 draft class featured a number of strong quarterbacks, including Jayden Daniels, Caleb Williams and Drake Maye. Tagovailoa was always a longshot to get picked, despite finishing his time in Maryland setting several records, and as the Big Ten's career leader in passing yards.
NFL.com said Tagovailoa's draft prospects were low given his size and other concerns.
The Seahawks currently have several quarterbacks on their roster including incumbent starter Geno Smith, and former Washington Commander Sam Howell.
