WASHINGTON – A Metro train hit and killed a woman near the Fort Totten station on Thursday night, according to officials.

The adult female victim had "no signs of life," Sherry Ly, a spokesperson from Metro, said late Thursday.

"A review of video evidence shows woman appears to have intentionally placed herself in path of the train," Ly said.

DC Fire and EMS tweeted the woman hit was killed. Their crews responded in coordination with WMATA and Metro Transit PD.
