ANNE ARUNDEL COUNTY, Md. — Two men police believe killed a 16-year-old girl in 1970 are both dead, according to the Anne Arundel Police Department.
In a press conference on March 10, 2023 police announced the identification of a suspect connected to the cold case death of Pamela Lynn Conyers. Conyers was only 16 years old when she disappeared on October 16, 1970.
Investigators say Conyers' family reported her missing after she went to run an errand at the Harundale Mall at approximately 8:30 p.m., but never returned. The car she was driving when she disappeared was found three days later in a wooded area near Mountain Road and Route 100 in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. During that time, the road was under construction.
Conyers' body was found not far from her car. DNA was extracted in 1970 from both Conyers' clothing and person. Thanks to the advancements in technology and Forensic Genetic Genealogy, police identified the DNA as belonging to Forrest Clyde Williams (III), 74, of Virginia.
Now, more than a year later, police have identified a second man they believe is connected to Conyers' death. Forensic genetic genealogy led police to identify 74-year-old Donald Willard, formerly from Montgomery County as the second suspect.
