Montgomery County expanding eligibility for Police-Private Security Camera Program

The program is designed to deter and solve crimes by incentivizing security cameras being installed in areas experiencing relatively high crime.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. — The Montgomery County Department of Police has announced that they are expanding eligibility of the priority areas of the Police-Private Security Camera Program.

The program is designed to deter and solve crimes by incentivizing security cameras being installed in areas experiencing relatively high crime. An owner or tenant of a property used as a residence, business, or nonprofit organization located within an eligible priority area may apply.

If interested, to participate people must register online. Residents must purchase and install their security cameras before applying for reimbursement.
