1 person shot, killed in Hagerstown

At this point in the investigation detectives say they believe the deadly shooting was a targeted attack and not random.

HAGERSTOWN, Md. — A homicide investigation is underway in Washington County after a person was shot and killed Friday morning.

Around 9:50 a.m., officers with the Hagerstown Police Department responded to Marshall Street, nearby Arlington Avenue, in Hagerstown after a report of shots fired in the area. Upon arrival, they found a person dead due to a gunshot wound.

No information has been released about the victim in the case, besides the fact that they are male, this includes their age and where they are from.

At this point in the investigation detectives say they believe the deadly shooting was a targeted attack and not random.

The investigation into the case is active and ongoing.
