2 people injured in Northwest DC shooting

The shooting happened on Cedar Street Northwest, nearby Carroll Street Northwest.

WASHINGTON — A shooting in Northwest D.C. has left two people suffering from injuries Tuesday night, and sparking an investigation into what happened.

Officers with the Metropolitan Police Department responded to Cedar Street Northwest, nearby Carroll Street Northwest, after receiving a call just before 9:30 p.m. about the shooting. Upon arrival, they found two people injured -- a woman and a man.

The woman was found conscious and breathing, and was taken to a local hospital to be treated for injuries sustained. Police said the man was not conscious and breathing, but confirmed whether the man is dead.

The identities of the two people who were shot have not been released, this includes their age, names, and where they are from. 

Police say this has been classified as an assault with a dangerous weapon and death investigation. It has also been established to be domestic in nature.
