Another teen arrested in Navy Yard CVS robbery; police searching for more suspects

WASHINGTON — Detectives with the Metropolitan Police Department have arrested even more teenagers in connection to the robbery of a CVS in Navy Yard. These arrests come as police continue to search for suspects.

On Tuesday, April 16, at 8:45 p.m., investigators say a group of teens walked into a CVS store in the 1100 block of New Jersey Avenue, Southeast and "took items without paying." 

When confronted by a security guard, one of the juveniles threw a bottle and missed the security guard. 

On Friday, May 10, MPD arrested and charged a 15-year-old girl, of Southeast, with Simple Assault and two counts of Aggravated Assault. 

On Wednesday, May 8, MPD arrested and charged a 16-year-old boy, of Southeast, with Burglary 2nd Degree, Conspiracy to Commit a Crime, and Theft 2nd Degree. 

A 16-year-old boy was arrested on Saturday, April 20 in connection to the theft. Then a week later, on April 27, investigators announced five more arrests in connection to the robbery including:

  • A 15-year-old girl of Southeast who was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault, Burglary, and Conspiracy to Commit Theft.
  • A 15-year-old girl of Southeast who was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault, Simple Assault, Burglary, and Receiving Stolen Property.
    • Both girls were also charged with assault for the offense that occurred on the National Mall prior to the retail theft at 8:15 p.m.
  • A 15-year-old boy of Southeast who was arrested and charged with Burglary, Theft, and Conspiracy to Commit Theft.
  • A 14-year-old boy of Southeast who was were arrested and charged with Burglary, Theft, and Conspiracy to Commit Theft.
  • A 14-year-old boy of Southeast who was were arrested and charged with Burglary, Theft, and Conspiracy to Commit Theft.                                                                                                                                                                 

The Metropolitan Police Department is still looking for the following individuals:

Police is currently offering a reward of up to $1,000 to anyone who could lead to the arrest of these juveniles.
