Woman, boy injured in Southeast DC double shooting

The victims claimed the shots came from a moving, dark-colored vehicle, according to police.

WASHINGTON — A woman and a teenage boy are recovering after being shot in Southeast D.C. Monday night, D.C. Police said.

Officers from the Metropolitan Police Department's 7th District were called to the 1500 block of Good Hope Road shortly after 10 p.m. after receiving a report of the sound of gunshots from Shotspotter, police said.

Once on scene, they found a woman with a chest wound caused by a bullet fragment.  Around the same time, a 15-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to the right knee was transported to United Medical Center by a family friend, police said. Both victims are expected to recover from their injuries.

According to police, the victims claimed the shots were fired from a moving dark-colored vehicle. No further descriptions of the suspects or vehicle is available at this time.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.

Police ask anyone who may have information to contact them at 202-727-9099 or text the department's tip line at 50411.
