Man in serious condition after shooting in Greenbelt

Greenbelt Police say the man was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

GREENBELT, Md. — A man has been hospitalized after a shooting in Greenbelt Sunday afternoon, according to the department.

Police responded to the 6100 block of Breezewood Court around 12:20 p.m. Sunday for the shooting. 

Once on scene, officers found a man suffering from gunshot wounds to the body. The man was taken to an area hospital where police said he is listed in critical but stable condition. 

Police have not released a motive in the shooting or any possible description of any suspects. 

Residents should avoid the area until the police investigation has concluded.
