Police are investigating deadly shooting in Oxon Hill

The man killed was identified as 19-year-old Tyrone Avent of Oxon Hill.

OXON HILL, Md. — Prince George’s County Police are investigating a deadly shooting that claimed the life of a man. 

Officers responded to the 600 block of Audrey Lane at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, for reports of a shooting. When they arrived police located a man outside suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives are working to establish suspects and a motive for this shooting. The man killed was identified by police Friday as 19-year-old Tyrone Avent of Oxon Hill.

Police are asking anyone with information to submit their tip to PGCrimeSolvers or call 1-866-411-TIPS.
