1 dead, 2 hurt in Southeast DC shooting

Police are offering a reward of up to $25,000 for anyone with information about this case.

WASHINGTON — DC Police are investigating a triple shooting that took place on Wednesday. 

At 7:58 p.m., officers were notified of a shooting victim who walked into an area hospital. During a preliminary investigation, police determined the shooting took place in the 3400 block of Stanton Road, Southeast. 

Two other shooting victims were also found at local hospitals. 

According to investigators, a man and a juvenile male were treated for injuries not thought to be life-threatening. The third victim died from his injuries on Thursday. Police identified the man killed as 26-year-old Amaru Cureton of Southeast D.C.

 Police are still working to determine a motive and suspect at this time. 

Anyone who may have information about this case is urged to call police at 202-727-9099 or text the department's tipline at 50411.

The police department is offering a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information that leads to an arrest and conviction in this case.
