Coat heist caught on camera at downtown DC store

The three people made off with more than $45,000 worth of merchandise

WASHINGTON — Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) detectives are looking for three people who should be toasty warm after taking off with over $45,000-worth of high-end winter wear from a northwest D.C. store.

MPD just released video of the heist, which took place on January 18th at the Moncler store located in the 900 block of Palmer Alley, NW.  In the video, the masked trio can be seen entering the store with large black bags. One of the suspects carried a fire extinguisher.  The suspects proceed to yank several coats from displays throughout the store, filling the black bags.

According to the incident report, the thieves made off with 18 coats and four shirts ranging in price from $370 to over $2,640. They left in a gray Toyota RAV 4.

Anyone who can identify the three individuals or has information about the theft is asked to contact MPD at (202) 727-9099.
