DC Police search for suspect involved in deadly double shooting in SE

Police say to be on the lookout for a man wearing a red hoodie and black jeans last seen running towards Oxon Run Park.

WASHINGTON — Detectives with the Metropolitan Police Department are investigating a shooting in Southeast that left one man dead.

Around 9 p.m. Tuesday night, a call regarding a shooting in the 100 block of Xenia Street, Southeast came into the police department.

At the scene, officers discovered two men suffering from gunshot wounds.

One man was found conscious and breathing, and the other man was not. He was pronounced dead a short time later, sparking an investigation.

Homicide detectives were called to the scene shortly after this.

Police say the 100 block of Xenia Street, Southeast, between First and 2nd Streets is closed due to police activity.

Detectives say to be on the lookout for a man wearing a red hoodie and black jeans last seen running towards Oxon Run Park in connection to this case. 

The man who died was identified Wednesday as 59-year-old Allen Hill, Jr., of Northwest D.C.

The investigation into this case is active and ongoing.
