Man charged with deadly shooting in Fairfax County

Detectives said on the day of the shooting that they believed the victim was shot after getting into an argument at a gas pump.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. — Police announced Thursday the arrest of a man accused of shooting and killing a 38-year-old man in Fair Haven just days earlier.

According to the Fairfax County Police Department, 44-year-old Doniel Drake is responsible for the death of Arthur Edward Mann II. 

Investigators say officers were called to the Fair Haven neighborhood on Richmond Highway just after 6 p.m. Tuesday. Upon arrival, officers found Mann. He had been shot to death. 

Detectives said on the day of the shooting that they believed Mann was shot after getting into an argument at a gas pump. 

Drake, who lives in D.C., was identified as the accused shooting and arrested Tuesday. He has since been taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center, where he was charged with second-degree murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. He is currently being held without bond.
