Police investigate deadly shooting at Lakeforest Mall

The man who was shot dead has been identified as 29-year-old Terrance Donte Dimes.

GAITHERSBURG, Md. — One man is dead after a shooting in the parking lot of Lakeforest Mall in the parking lot in Gaithersburg. 

He has since been identified by police as 29-year-old Terrance Donte Dimes of Gaithersburg.

Just after 5:30 p.m., Gaithersburg Police and Montgomery County Police officers were called to 701 Russell Ave for a report of a shooting. 

When police arrived they found the man who had been shot. Police and Fire in Montgomery County tried to help  Dimes, but he died from his injuries.  

Police are saying that currently, there is no suspect in custody, and this is an ongoing investigation. Montgomery County Police did not have a lookout for a suspect at this time.

A 20-year-old Maryland man was arrested Wednesday morning for allegedly shooting and injuring a Riverdale Park Police officer Monday night, as well as shooting at a Greenbelt Police officer, according to the Prince George's County Police Department. Josue Albarran-Dominguez, of Riverdale, is charged with assault, gun offenses and other related charges.
