Police investigate overnight carjackings in DC

Police say three carjackings occurred in the District overnight.

WASHINGTON — DC Police are investigating three separate carjackings that occurred overnight. 

At 7:55 p.m. on Saturday, detectives say an unarmed carjacking was reported at the intersection of 7th and L Streets, Southeast. Police say to be on the lookout for two juveniles in this carjacking. 

A few hours later, at 11:20 p.m., another carjacking was reported in the 1800 block of 8th Street, Northwest. Detectives are searching from three men alleged to be involved in this carjacking, one of which was armed with a firearm with a green laser attached. 

At midnight, police say an armed carjacking was reported in Southeast D.C. Detectives say the victim in this case was parked in front of a home on 41st Street when he was allegedly approached by four individuals and robbed at gunpoint. The four people made off with his car as well as various other personal belongings. They were last seen heading westbound down the 1500 block of 41st Street in the victim's stolen white BMW.

Officers searched the area nearby immediately after the carjacking, but did not locate any potential suspects. 

Police say no injuries were reported as a result of this carjacking.
