The little girl and her dad were conscious and breathing when they arrived at a local hospital for treatment. According to the police department, their injuries don't appear to be life-threatening and that they walked themselves to the hospital.

Authorities do not have a lookout at this time for a suspect, and they don’t know how the shooting happened. This is an active investigation.

On Wednesday, police identified a man they say was responsible for the shooting. They said Alante Partlow, 29, of Northeast D.C. is actively being sought. Partlow is wanted on charges of aggravated assault while armed (gun).

Detectives say the suspect and victims were known to each other.
