2 men wanted for attempted robbery in North Bethesda

The victim was able to alert others to what was happening in the restaurant bathroom by screaming.

NORTH BETHESDA, Md. — Police are asking for the public's help identifying the people involved in an attempted robbery that happened in North Bethesda in September 2023.

On Sept. 3, just before 10:20 p.m., officers with the Montgomery County Department of Police responded to Rose Avenue, off of Rockville Pike, after a report of an attempted robbery.

Through an investigation it was determined that two people approached the victim in the bathroom. One of the two then blocked the door while the second began to assault the victim and grabbing their bag. The victim then began to scream, alerting people in the restaurant, who were able to push their way into the bathroom.

The two suspects then threw the victim's bag back to him and ran away.

The police department released surveillance video, as well as descriptions of the two people involved, on Thursday. The two have been described as men around 25 to 35-years-old. One of them was wearing a green hat, white shirt, and black pants at the time of the crime, while the other was wearing a blue shirt, ripped jeans, and white and black sneakers.
