Kids across the DMV celebrate the YMCA's Healthy Kids Day | Get Uplifted

It's a great kick off to the summer season and to remind families to get a jump start on summer camp fun.

WASHINGTON — Even though summer is officially 58 days away, we are getting uplifted by the thought of those long hot days, but not just that. We're also excited about the anticipation of those days being filled with plenty of kids getting to just be kids and enjoying the great outdoors.

This weekend local YMCAs across the DMV hosted their yearly 'Healthy Kids Day' to get a jump start on summer camp fun. Young people across the Metropolitan Washington-area came together to get active by doing arts and crafts, play games, even learn about life-saving techniques like CPR.

Each different branch of the YMCA had different activities, and this annual event is free and features family-friendly fun, healthy snacks and prizes to support healthy families. It's a great kick off to the summer season and to remind families to get a jump start on summer camp fun.
