The worm composting is a great fertilizer

Worm composting is a great way to do your part to help the environment. It could take a couple tries to really get the 'worm machine' devouring your fruits and veggies. If you're committed and seek a little help from the experts you can make it work in your home. Also worm castings are a great natural fertilizer for your garden or potted plants!

5 Things you need to start worm composting!

  • A pound of red worms. (You can order them online)
  • A Rubbermaid® type container and turn it into a composting bin between 8 or 12 inches deep.
  • Potting soil (worms like a dirt)
  • A place to keep the composting worms. Red worms tend to prefer temperatures in the 55 to 77 degree and they like a quiet space (don't we all) .Under the kitchen sink or in a stairwell maybe a good place for them to call home.
  • A little expert guidance.
