Search underway for man with dementia missing since Jan. 2

Prince George's County officials are hoping the a group of volunteers will help them search an area of Maryland for a missing man.

UPDATE: Prince George's County police released a statement on Sunday night that their detectives are investigating a tip that DeHaven may have been picked up along Route 1 near Route 32 in Howard County, and then dropped off at the 800 block in Annapolis Rd. in Gambrills.

Police are asking residents and commuters to be on the lookout with this new information.

ORIGINAL STORY: Prince George's County officials are hoping the a group of volunteers will help them search an area of Maryland for a missing man.

Daniel Dehaven was last seen at the Costco in on Route 1 in Beltsville on Jan. 2. Dehaven has dementia.

Dehaven is the brother of a retired firefighter, per Montgomery County Fire Spokesman Pete Piringer.

The volunteers are meeting at 11 a.m. at 4911 Prince George's Ave. Beltsville, MD.
