WASHINGTON —

Key Points:

While it will continue to not be a washout of a weekend, it won't be great Sunday for outdoor plans. When all is said and done, this weekend's rain will only amount to 1.0 - 1.5" and over such a prolonged period of time, the ground will have plenty of time to absorb the rain so flooding isn't a concern. It will be more of a gloomy weekend then anything.

Timeline:

Sunday 12 p.m.
After steadier morning rains, scattered showers continue through lunch time.

Sunday 6 p.m.
Showers will start to taper off after 3 p.m. with mainly patchy drizzle continued through late-day and into the evening.

How Much Rain?

Despite seeming like a very wet weekend, the showers and drizzle won't amount to much. We are forecasting a total of 1.0 - 1.5" of rain when all is said and done.  The heaviest rainfall totals will occur north and west of D.C.

When Will it End?

After a some patchy fog to start Monday, warmer temperatures with higher humidity levels and less rain coverage will take over as highs move back closer to 80 with only a risk of afternoon and evening thunderstorms for both Monday and Tuesday.
