68-year-old man dies in Lanham house fire

Joseph Ingegneri was discovered dead inside the home during the investigation of the Friday morning fire.

LANHAM, Md. — A man is dead after a fire in Prince George's County.

Prince George's County Fire Department crews worked to put out a house fire in Lanham early Friday morning.

Firefighters with the department arrived to the fire in the 9300 block of Annapolis Road around 1:42 a.m.

Officials say the fire began in the basement of the home, but quickly spread, showing through the roof. 

Firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire, but during the course of their investigation a body was found during a search of the home. The man was identified as 68-year-old Joseph Ingegneri

Investigators have not released a cause of death for Ingegneri. The cause of the fire also remains under investigation.
