Both Pepco and BGE released statements on Saturday night, saying they’re working to restore power to households in DC and Maryland after Friday’s damaging wind storm.
For Pepco, 34,000 of the 240,000 customers impacted by the storm remain without power, most of those customers in Montgomery County and Prince George’s County. Most customers, Pepco says, will get power back over the weekend, but not all service will be restored until late Monday.
BGE said 400,000 outages occurred for their customers during the storm. They expect to restore power for most people, after 300,000 of their customers were impacted, by Sunday night, but repairs will continue into next week.
Damage from the storm on Friday impacted regions across the northeast, causing outages, downed trees and power lines, and cancellations of trains and planes.
