Bird on the loose: Wild turkey caught in Rosslyn

It was almost like a wild goose chase in Virginia except in this case, it's a wild turkey.

It was almost like a wild goose chase in Virginia except in this case, it was a wild turkey.

The bird, also known as #RosslynTurkey, was spotted near North Moore Street in Rosslyn wandering around a construction site. Nate Keller, ambassador for the Business Improvement District, helped out with the rescue for the scared and stressed turkey.

When an officer arrived to the scene, she found the bird and was able to put a blanket over him, pick him up and safely put him in a cage.

He was taken to the Animal Welfare League of Arlington to check for injuries.

AWLA along with the Arlington County Parks and Recreation’s Natural Resources Chief and his team released the uninjured turkey into the woods in North Arlington.

Hopefully your feathers aren’t ruffled, the #RosslynTurkey is back in the wild where he belongs.
