WASHINGTON — Detectives have arrested and charged a D.C. man for a shooting that left someone wounded in Southeast back in March.

Calvon Brown, 30, is charged with assault with a dangerous weapon in connection to the shooting.

On Friday, March 22, at 4:29 p.m., police say the victim was inside a business in the 2400 block of Minnesota Avenue, Southeast, when Brown confronted the victim and a fight broke out. The fight continued outside the business, where police say Brown pulled out a gun and shot the victim. The victim then fled from Brown and asked for medical help at a local police station.

On Thursday, April 25, investigators located and arrested Brown in connection to the shooting.

Police say a firearm and ammunition were recovered in connection with his arrest. Brown was then additionally charged with possession of an unregistered gun, possession of unregistered ammunition, and felon in possession.
