Old and new DC should come together and get to know each other #DontMuteDC
On April 8, the Metro PCS store at the corner of 7th Street and Florida Avenue NW was forced to stop playing go-go music as a result of a complaint to their corporate offices. Online, the protest hashtag #DontMuteDC picked up steam.
Offline, a series of block parties along the U Street corridor featuring performances from go-go bands brought together thousands of supporters.
Metro PCS quickly reversed it's decision and the music is playing again.
