The Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC) crowned champions in boys and girls basketball.
The boys basketball championship saw a return to top for power house program DeMatha.
The Stags won their first WCAC title since 2011, beating Gonzaga 54-53.
The championship is DeMatha's 40th all-time.
The St. John’s girls defeat Paul VI 54-49 to win second consecutive WCAC title. Carly Rivera lead the team with a career high 16 points. The Cadets knew the fourth quarter would be their time.
"We felt like we could wear them down and the fourth quarter would be our quarter and it kind of played out that way,” said Head Coach Jonathan Scribner.
