Suspect wanted in fatal shooting that happened last summer

WASHINGTON — Police are looking for a suspect in connection with a fatal shooting that happened last summer in Northwest D.C. 

The shooting happened on July 24, 2018 in the 800 block of R Street, Metropolitan police said. 

When police got to the scene they found 46-year-old Paul Williams Jr. of Southeast D.C. suffering from gunshot wounds. He was later pronounced dead. 

Police are now looking for 37-year-old Juvon Julian Searles. He is currently wanted on a DC Superior Court arrest warrant for second degree murder while armed in the fatal shooting of Williams, Jr. 

Searles is described as a black man, standing 6'1" tall and weighing 249 pounds. He has a medium complexion, brown eyes, and black hair. He is considered to be armed and dangerous.  

The Metropolitan Police Department currently offers a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone that provides information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for any homicide committed in the District of Columbia. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at 202-727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by sending a text message to 50411.
