FORECAST: Showers continue through Mother's Day weekend, but it won't be a washout!

Keep an umbrella handy the next few days. We'll catch a break from the wet weather Monday.

WASHINGTON — There will be plenty of dry time for outdoor plans over Mother's Day weekend.

Quick Forecast:
Overnight: Cloudy and chilly with some showers and drizzle. Low: 51.
Saturday: Partly sunny and cool with some evening showers and storms. High: 67.
Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy and chilly with a few showers. Low: 53.
Sunday: Partly sunny and remaining cool with showers ending. High: 68.

It will remain drizzly, damp and chilly throughout Friday evening. Showers and drizzle will continue until 11 p.m. there may even be a few embedded storms. Storms won't be strong or severe, but you may notice a few rumbles of thunder.

Saturday will finally feature more sunshine blending with occasional clouds and slightly milder - albeit still below average - temperatures in the mid to upper 60s. Showers and even a few more thunderstorms will move through after 3 p.m. and last until midnight. It won't be a washout, but keep an umbrella handy in case you get caught in a shower.

Plan on scattered showers through at least 3 p.m. on Mother's Day with otherwise partly to mostly cloudy skies. The evening will be dry so any outdoor dinner plans will be safe.
