These roads are closed for the MLK Day Parade in DC Monday

There will be several road closures and parking restrictions.

WASHINGTON — The Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Parade is happening in D.C. on Monday. Drivers should be prepared to talk alternate routes if they are out on the roads. Here's what you need to know to plan ahead.

The following streets will be closed to vehicle traffic from approximately 9:45 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Monday:

  • Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue from Marion Barry Avenue to Malcolm X Avenue, SE
  • Marion Barry Avenue from Anacostia Drive to Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue, SE
  • Anacostia Drive from US Park Police Anacostia Facility to Anacostia Recreation Center

Those streets will also be closed to parking from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Monday. All cars that are parked in violation of the emergency no parking signs will be ticketed and towed.
