Metro launches 'Spotify Wrapped'-style recap for customers

WMATA said that last year customers took 226 million trips across Metrorail, Metrobus and MetroAccess.

WASHINGTON — Did you ride Metro in 2023? Well, in 'Spotify Wrapped' fashion, you can now see a recap of how you rank amongst other riders.

Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) has launched a new tool called "Your 2023 Metro Report," which lets riders know how many trips they took, how many stations were visited, and more transit highlights for the year.

WMATA said that last year customers took 226 million trips across Metrorail, Metrobus and MetroAccess. The feature helps show the value the transit service plays in the rider's life as well as the community.

"Every time you choose to take transit over driving, you've contributed in a big way. You're helping the DMV region make strides toward our climate and safety goals," WMATA said on their website. "Meanwhile, you're also saving time by not sitting in traffic and saving some money along the way."

To see the recap, all riders have to do is enter their 20-digit SmarTrip number on the Metro's "Your 2023 Metro Report" website. Click here to access it.

The serial number can be found on the back of the plastic SmarTrip card, or for a mobile SmarTrip card, riders can find that number in their Google or Apple Wallet or the SmarTrip app. The 20-digit number starts with either 0167, 0176, or 0177.
