Crash leaves 2 dead in Frederick County

FREDERICK, Md. — Police are investigating a crash in Frederick County Tuesday morning that left two people dead.

According to Maryland State Police, the crash happened shortly after 11 a.m. at the ramp from Maryland Route 80 to northbound Interstate 270. 

Investigators say a Toyota RAV4 attempted to exit onto the ramp before the vehicle went off the road and overturned. 

The driver and passenger of the Toyota died in the crash. Their identities will not be released by officials until their families are notified. 

The ramp from Route 80 to northbound I-270 was temporarily closed following the crash. 

The exact cause of the crash remains under investigation.
