Celtics dominate the Heat in playoff opener

Game 2 is on Wednesday in Boston.

BOSTON — The Boston Celtics have started strong in the NBA playoffs with a win Sunday against the Miami Heat. The Celtics beat the Heat 114 to 94.

According to the Associated Press, Jayson Tatum had his first career playoff triple-double with 23 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, helping lead the Celtics to victory.

The Celtics' lead grew as high as 34 point in the fourth quarter of the game.

The Heat were without Jimmy Butler for Game 1 of their Eastern Conference Playoffs, who was out for a knee injury. Terry Rozier also remained out with a neck injury. Officials say this diminished their chances of winning.

Las season, the Heat ruined the Celtics' NBA Finals dreams, with a 3-0 lead in the conference finals and then defeating them in Boston in Game 7.

The NBA playoffs typically begin in April and end in June. Teams play up to four playoff series: the first round, conference semifinals, conference finals, and the NBA Finals.

Game 2 is on Wednesday in Boston.
