Woman shot in buttocks during attempted robbery at Northeast 7-Eleven, police say

According to officials, the suspect approached the woman and demanded money as she exited her vehicle.

WASHINGTON -- A woman was shot in the buttocks at a 7-Eleven in Northeast D.C., Friday.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the suspect approached the woman as she was exiting her vehicle at the 7-Eleven at 3101 Rhode Island Ave., Northeast and demanded money. 

The suspect then "brandished a silver handgun," an incident report said.

According to the report the suspect said, "Don't you move b**** give me your money, I will shoot you."

The woman refused to give the suspect her property, and as she attempted walk inside the 7-Eleven for assistance, the suspect then shot her in the buttocks area.

The suspect then fled the scene toward Newton Street, the incident report said.

The woman was transported to the hospital, and K9 units responded to the scene. The Metropolitan Police Department was able to retrieve camera footage of the suspect from the 7-Eleven's camera system.
