STAFFORD, Va. — A Stafford County woman was taken into police custody after becoming violent with police officers, a police report said.
Sergeant Flick with the Stafford County Sheriff's Office responded to reports of a disturbance involving an intoxicated person Tuesday around 8:30 p.m. at Stafford Marketplace.
When he arrived, he found a female matching the suspect's description. According to a police report, she was yelling profanities while on the phone in front of a Michaels store.
When Flick made contact with her, he smelled alcohol on her "and observed that her eyes were bloodshot and glassy," the report said.
The suspect was identified as Kristen Younger, a 35-year-old woman from Stafford. She continued to be belligerent, and officers tried to take her into custody for public intoxication, the report said.
Police said Younger became uncooperative, and kicked a deputy in the torso.
Once she was in the police cruiser, Younger slammed her head into the partition between the front and back seat, which caused a small cut to her forehead, police said.
When she exited the vehicle, she spit on two deputies. She was treated and transported to a hospital.
Younger then kicked a nurse and two deputies at the hospital, and shrieked "at the top of her lungs," police said.
She threatened to kill Flick, and attempted to bite him.
Younger was taken to Rappahannock Regional Jail without bond on charges of assault on law enforcement, assault ton a healthcare worker, disorderly conduct on hospital grounds, drunk in public and obstruction of force or threat.
Her husband, Anthony Younger, was also arrested during the incident at Stafford Marketplace after he refused to comply with deputies' commands to stop blocking traffic and to move from a fire lane, police said.
Officials said he also tried to interfere with deputies while his wife was being arrested.
