Police search for suspects who rammed truck into 7-Eleven, stole ATM in West Lanham

Officials released surveillance video of the suspects asking the public's help to identify them

WEST LANHAM HILLS, Md. — Police are searching for three suspects who smashed through the front of a 7 Eleven with a truck and made off with an entire ATM machine early Wednesday morning.

Officials released surveillance video of the suspects asking the public's help to identify them.

The Prince George's County Police Department said they responded to the store in the 7000 block of Finns Lane in West Lanham around 1:56 a.m. for the report of a robbery.

Investigators said two of the suspects went into the store and told everyone inside to get on the ground. Then the suspect's laid on top of the employees as a third suspect smashed a white pick-up truck through the store, police said.

All three suspects then pushed an ATM onto the bed of the truck and fled the store, according to a police report.

There were employees inside the store at the time of the incident, however no one was hurt, Cpl. Robinson said. It is still unclear how much money was inside the ATM at the time of the theft.

Several hours later, officers said they were called to an empty lot in Landover where they found three stolen ATMs on fire. Police said one of them was the machine stolen from the 7-Eleven in West Lanham.

Police also found a stolen white Ford F-250 truck which they believe was used to steal the machine.

Detectives are investigating whether this incident is related to other ATM thefts in the region.
