NSYNC performs together for the first time in a decade

The four other members of the iconic boy band joined Timberlake on stage for a medley of their greatest hits, including "Bye Bye Bye" and "It's Gonna Be Me."

WASHINGTON — Hit '90s boy band NSYNC has claimed fame and adoration from many, but they haven't performed together live in over a decade. That is, until this week.

Members of NSYNC made a surprise appearance Wednesday night at the launch party for Justin Timberlake's new album, "Everything I thought It Was."

At the end of Timberlake's set at the Wiltern in Los Angeles, longtime fans were greeted with the opening notes of NSYNC’s “Gone."

The four other members of the iconic pop band then joined him on stage for a medley of their greatest hits, including "Bye Bye Bye" and "It's Gonna Be Me." NSYNC also debuted a new collaboration at the L.A. show. The track, called "Paradise," is set to officially debut with Timberlake's album on March 15.

The last time NSYNC performed together was more than a decade ago, at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards. Timberlake received the Video Vanguard Award at that show, and the band showed up in support of their lead singer.

"Everything I Thought It Was" is Timberlake's sixth solo album, and his first new album in six years.

Rumors have been circulating for months about a potential NSYNC reunion, as the band has joined together a number of times for in-person events — although notably without any announcements about a new album or tour.

The band reunited last year at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, handing the best pop video award to Taylor Swift.

Then, they dropped their first new song together since 2002. The song, "Better Place," was the background music to the trailer for the animated movie "Trolls Band Together."

The group also turned up the heat on the season premiere of 'Hot Ones,' braving increasingly spicy wings while dishing on lore about their careers.
